From Humble Beginnings to Global Ambassadors

Netball was officially launched in Uganda under the Uganda Netball Association (UNA) in 1966. The Association then changed its name to the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) in the 1990s.

The netball governing body then transitioned to Netball Uganda in 2024.

Jocelyn Ucanda was declared the new president of Netball Uganda following an elective assembly on October 26, 2024.
The NIC Netball Club manager and former She Cranes manager made history as the first president of the newly founded Netball Uganda.

Months later, World Netball recognized Netball Uganda as a full member of the World Netball Family on December 19, 2024.

Netball Uganda regulates all netball activities in Uganda.

Netball Uganda organizes and manages the women and men’s national netball teams, national leagues and all related competitions in the country.
