East Africa Club Netball Championship
Final result
NIC 53  KCCA 38

National Insurance Corporation (NIC), Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Prisons represented Uganda with distinction during the recently concluded East Africa Club Netball Championship.

NIC defended their regional crown with a comprehensive 53-38 victory over KCCA in an all-Ugandan club final on May 21, at the New Amaan Indoor stadium in Zanzibar.

NIC extended their titles to 28 in the regional championship that had top clubs from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and hosts Zanzibar.

“We had our plans and strategies to play good defense and midfield. We had a plan to ensure their balls could not enter the shooting circle. The girls played a very good game, they had a lot of morale and it helped that our group was very tight and competitive which allowed us to improve with each game,” NIC coach Rashid Mubiru told the media.

NIC overcame their Group A opponents Uhamiaji, Arusha Jiji, JKU, and KCCA—with ease before booking their semi-final against KVZ. They beat KVZ 71-40.

Their final opponents KCCA beat Prisons 44-43 to book their place in the final.

Uganda’s third representatives Prisons finished third.

NIC and Prisons dominated the championship awards.

Best Mid Court Player: Fildauce Namuleme (NIC)
